I suspect Sartre felt the same way; in his introduction, he only mentions it in passing, by way of drawing out some element of The Maids.

Is there a higher accolade than genius? Sartre’s introduction is very insightful. Learn more More Like This. I saw The Maids performed once by the Towson State theater department. In Deathwatch, two convicts try to impress a third, who is on the verge of achieving legendary status in criminal circles. In a future where dying of illness is exceedingly rare, a terminally ill woman becomes a celebrity and a man with camera implants goes to secretly record her for a morbid TV show. One of them is on death row and will be executed very shortly.
The Maids is a very compelling two person play about mad sisters who work as servants for a rich woman.
Green Eyes Yeux-Verts has brutally murdered a woman and is to be executed. I don’t think Deathwatch the play was what Deathwatch the song was referencing. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. I did this play in HS and I was the understudy for all three roles as well as the stage manager. When their attempt to betray their mistress’s lover to the police fails and they are in danger of being found out, they dream of murdering Madame, little aware of the true power behind their darkest fantasy.
